One Day One School

One Day One SchoolIt started as a good deed. And it turned into a good deal more. The One Day One School event, created by Ace Gallagher, Scott Eveland and Rick Close, brings together tree professionals, town leaders, students, school administrators and community volunteers to clean up school grounds.

Local tree companies donate their services to trim and remove hazardous tree limbs, and volunteers rake, weed, plant and clean up at no cost to the school district. The first clean-up took place at Ridgedale Middle School in 2007, and the second at Brooklake Elementary in April 2008.

The program is being launched nationally and shows how teamwork and leadership can make a huge difference for a community.

JOIN US for the latest event: Saturday, August 29, 2009. Stop by Ridgedale School anytime after 11 am and help rake the leftover tree clippings and pick up debris. Cleanups taking place at six area schools. See release.
